MANHATTAN — Thousands of angry music fans came close to starting a riot at South Street Seaport after finding out rapper Drake would be 90 minutes late for a free concert Tuesday night, the New York Post reported.

Six people suffered minor injuries and police officers were forced to get involved. The show, featuring the Canadian rapper and the pop group Hanson, was canceled by police, the paper reported.

Organizers expected 8,000 to 10,000 fans, but twice as many showed up, the NYPD told the Post.

The overflow crowd got rowdy after finding out the ‘Best I Ever Had’ rapper would be late.

"People were throwing bottles back up at people on the balcony,” Mark Sisko, 18, told the Post. "I was expecting a show and got nothing."

One man was charged with disorderly conduct for throwing a bottle off the balcony of Pier 17.

"NYPD will not let me go on stage tonight," Drake tweeted Tuesday night.
